Mike Wager - Accompanist

Mike attended Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital school in Bristol, where he was awarded a Music Scholarship, and where he studied Music at O-Level and A- Level, learning both piano and organ. He was a chorister, too, singing in the school’s choir during his time there, participating in choral tours of Germany, Denmark and Sweden. After studying French and German at Exeter University, he went on to have a career as a teacher of modern foreign languages, working at Exeter School, Wisbech Grammar School, and latterly at Queen’s College, Taunton. In each of these, his keyboard and vocal skills were frequently in demand – supporting choirs, instrumentalists, and musical theatre productions. Now retired, he remains musically active as our accompanist and as accompanist for the Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir. He is also one of the lead musicians at Taunton Baptist Church. He brings considerable musical experience to his role as choir accompanist.
